About
Making things easy to use should be a priority to those who design them. Whether it is a Web site, a consumer product or everyday item, there should be no excuse for disregarding the needs of users. This is a fundamental requirement for achieving success.
My long term interest in ergonomics and usability – of anything we interact with, not just Web sites – has led me to examine many things from a user perspective and look at details which on the surface may seem trivial. These details are not trivial. In fact, many design faults have a pretty serious impact on people and the businesses which are trying to communicate with them.
This site is an outlet for my observations, and my thoughts, on the broad reaching subject of usability, particularly in Web design. I also deal with on-line marketing issues and, in fact, many topics which are important to achieving success on the Internet.
Hopefully this will make a positive contribution and encourage people to think more about the importance and value of user-centred design.
